It can be useful, if you can save Excel table, charts etc as images. You can reuse them, anywhere you want, be it your blog, or a presentation, or in a document. Here is a simple trick that will teach you how to do the same.

Recently, I wanted to save an Excel table as an image so that I can add it in one of my blog posts. But, when I tried I couldn’t find any option to save my table as an image. But, I remember sometime earlier that I had saved tables as pictures. I searched online for it, but no forums or blogs, suggested me a good and simple answer. However, it didn’t take a long time for me to figure out how to do it. So, here I am, writing an article on the same, in case it helps you too!

When I searched for the solution online, I found many answers like, saving a excel spreadsheet as a webpage and then, converting that webpage into an image. Or, I found some cumbersome visual basic code (I think so, am not sure)on Microsoft Forums. But, here is a simple solution that I found out to this problem.

You can convert, not only excel tables, but also Smart Arts, Charts and Word Arts into images, using this trick. Let me get to the process now.

If you have a table, already created in Excel,

Copy that table.

Open a new PowerPoint presentation.

Paste the table into an empty slide.

Right-click on the table, and select the option “Save as Picture”.

That’s it, you are done! Your table is now saved as a PNG image file!

We are actually using a simple feature, that’s already present in MS Office. However, the feature is limited only to MS PowerPoint, not MS Excel or MS Word. I wonder why.

P.S. The same procedure can be followed for converting Smart Arts, Charts and Word Arts into images.

Simple, isn’t it? Please leave your comments and share if you have any other way of doing this.

Are you frustrated that you can't access social sites like twitter in your office? Then here is a solution for your problem. You can integrate your gmail account with your twitter account and start tweeting through IM! I have listed out a few such services in this post! Check out!

Many workplaces say a big NO for social sites like Twitter, Orkut or Facebook. But, most of us are addicted so much to those sites that we cannot leave without them. Today, I am going to introduce you people to some tools that will help you to tweet from Gtalk!

TwiTalker

Twitalker is a nice and simple tool. You can send and recieve tweets from your friends through IM. You can even send direct messages and @ replies to your friends using this tool. You need to verify your account by pinging the access key to their bot. You will be guided through detailed steps to set up your account.

HelloTxt

This is a nice tool that helps you to update your messages not only on Twitter but also on Facebook and other sites simultaneously and instantaneously. To use this service, you have to register at hellotxt.com. After registering, add im@hellotxt.com to your chat buddies list.Verify your account with the code they give and you are ready to update! However, with this bot you cannot receive tweets through IM.

Excla.im

This is again a tool to integrate Gtalk with Twitter. All you need to do is just set up your account and start updating the statuses. However, even with this tool you cannot receive tweets from your buddies.

Twip.me

With this tool, you can not only integrate Twitter with Gtalk but also with your Jabber account or Yahoo! Messenger. However, you can only update tweets through this tool.

TweetSwitch

TweetSwitch is probably the most latest of all the other tools I mentioned above. This works like a charm. It sends and receives updates instantaneously. This has lots of features integrated in it. You can configuure your account to receive only DMs, mentions or tweets. More than that, you can set up multiple accounts so that if you are offline on one account, then you will be receiving it on other account.

My Recommendation

Personally, I recommend TweetSwitch. It has great features and looks like a nice stable service. I liked its features like redirecting tweets and also quickness in updating messages.

I have listed out a few tools that will help you to tweet through Gtalk. If you know any other tool, then pleas share with us through comments. Feel free to add suggestions to my post.

Many of you might have faced this problem, i.e., you create your document with certain font in any higher version of Microsoft Office and would have saved it. But when you access in your friend’s computer, it does not show the font you used at all. This happens for two reasons: 1) Maybe that your friend or any other computer you access your document or presentation uses a lower version of Microsoft Office than yours; or 2) The computer you access does not have the font that you had.

How to overcome this problem??

Here is the solution. If you are using a font that oyu had downloaded from the onternet or from any other source or using a font which is there only in the latest version of Office than you would need to save the font also with the file. This can be done very easily in the Office 2007. Here is a brief explanation of what to do:

1) After you complete your work with the file before saving it, click on the office button>>Powerpoint options. (At the bottom)

2) In the opened window go to “Save” options.

3) There check the box “Embed Fonts in the File.”

There will be two sub options of whether you want the complete character set or just the characters you used in the file.

4) Select the desired option and proceed to “Save”. Your work is done. Now, you open on any computer and your font will remain as it is.
