Here is a way to convert PowerPoint slideshows into other video formats (avi, wmv, flv etc.). This is done with the help of a software program called Snag It. This is a very good software program for capturing screenshots. It also captures videos on the screen. You can get this software online for trial version and I have told you earlier in one of my posts about “how to extend the trial version of it.” So, read this tutorial clearly and you should be able to see you presentation in VLC media player or any other player.

You can follow these steps to convert your slideshow into a video.

1. Open your PowerPoint presentation and keep it ready for viewing the slideshow.
2. Next, open the Snag It software and change the capture type to video capture.
3. Press the print screen button on the keyboard and you will be asked to start the video capture.
4. Press F5 in the PowerPoint presentation and capture the video of your presentation.
5. Then Snag It has its own editor and it opens you video capture in that.
6. This output file will be saved in the AVI format.
So, you can play this file in Windows Media Player or VLC player. You can convert this video into other formats using any other converter.

Here is the link for the download of Snag It: http://www.techsmith.com/screen-capture.asp

Or you can also get it in the chip DVD (March 09)

I was always using another cost-effective PowerPoint to video software to convert my presentation to needed video format that can be played on any players and put it on website, the use period of the trial version can only be up to 30 days. But I found that it really works well.
