Browser is a very important aspect a person has to look at when he is browsing. It all depends on what type of work you do on internet. If you are a web developer then browsers like Firefox or if you just want to browse then you can go for Opera. If you have a slow computer you could go for Google Chrome, which according to me are really fast on slow computers. But still choosing a good browser is not a easy task. You can check out some cool demography about the browser if you were searching for some here.

So, even though you choose a good browser according to your requirements, it does not fulfill your complete requirements. You have to have good addons and also do a lot of tweaks to the browser so that it becomes friendly to you. So, here is a  simple tweak in Opera that helps you to browse Opera as Firefox or Internet Explorer.

How does this masking help?

This is a very good feature for people who don’t want to show their real browser identification. That is, when you visit websites the websites store your browser identification. If you don’t want other people to know about the browser you are using you can use this option that is in Opera.

How to carry out this masking?

This is a simple tweak in Opera. Follow the instructions to carry out this tweak.

  • Click on the “Tools” option in the menu bar and go to “Quick Preferences” option (Hotkey – F12)
  • Select the option “Edit Site Preferences…”.
  • After this, go to the tab “Network”.
  • Select an option from the drop-down menu from “Browser Identification” option.opera tweak 1
  • Your job is done. Your browser will be masked by the browser you have selected from now on.

A Shortcut Method For This Tweak:

This is a method I found out. You can do this in a very simple way instead of navigating such deep into browser preferences every time you want to change.

Here is what I did:

  • Go to “Tools” option in the menu bar.
  • There select the option, “Appearances” and go to the “Buttons” tab.
  • Go to the “Preferences” option and you will see a image called “Identify as Opera”. Drag and drop that image where you have the address bar in your browser. The job is done. You can now change the option whenever you want just in the front without navigating through Site Preferences.
