Access Your Google Documents Through Microsoft Office With OffiSync

Sometimes it so happens that you need multiple features in a single product. That is where the add-ons or plug-ins get their role to play. Today, in this post, I am going to introduce you people to an extremely useful MS Office add-on with which you can collaborate your Google Docs with Microsoft Office!

Yes, this is true! You can now access your Google Docs saved online through Microsoft Office. An MS Office add-on called Offisync helps you do this. With this add-on installed into your office, you can import your Google Docs saved online, edit whatever you want and again save it online. That sounds cool!

How is this add-on helpful?

This add-on is helpful in many ways,

1) You may want to share some great piece of information online through Google Docs. However, as Google Docs is still a novice, not many options are available. With this add-on, you can edit the doc in Microsoft Office and again upload it to Google Docs.

2) This add-on is a bridge between MS Office and Google Docs. It merges your online workspace with your offline workspace. As I will explain in the latter part of the post, you can directly search for any piece of information you want from Microsoft Word.

Features it has:

It has a deck of features. Let me go through them one by one.

Importing Google Docs To MS word

Offiync helps you to import Google Docs to your Office workspace. Type in your Username and Password and you are connected. It is just like browsing through your computer for documents.

Now, enough snooping on my email ID!:P. Let us move onto more unique and interesting features.

Research On Your Topic Immediately

This is another interesting and very useful feature in this add-on. Let us take an example to explain this. Let us suppose, you are writing an article on Yamaha bikes. You want some info from Wikipedia. It sure is tedious to open a browser and search. With this add-on, you can search through the web for information directly from your word window! Take a look at this.

You can also insert image clips using this search feature. Just crop a piece of webpage and insert it onto the document.

Searching For Images

There is also a Google Image Search Option integrated with this add-on. Just like you searched for information, you can search for images and insert them into your documents. You can also choose the color size and usage options just like in Google Image Search.

Other Options In This Add-on

It has many other options like setting up different accounts and setting sharing permissions. It also has a feature to work through proxy.

A Quick Roundup

Therefore, this simple add-on required so much of explanation. It is certainly a must try option, especially if you are an Office and Docs user.

Go ahead and download it here. It is a really small add-on with great features. [Download file around: 576 KB] [Fat 32 installation: 5.76MB]

P.S. This is compatible only for Office 07 and Office 03. It is still in beta version. Hence, small bugs may arise. So far, I have experienced none.
